Main Image

The main image is displayed as a thumbnail (small photo) on the main auction page. It is also the first large image presented on a lot's detail page. Special attention should be given to this photograph because it is the one most likely to influence the sale.

This first image in particular should both accurately capture the realism of the lot and capture the interest and imagination of the viewer. Composition, focus, contrast, and color are all important.

Digital images viewed on the average computer monitor sometimes lack the contrast or color intensity of the actual object. Adding a small amount of contrast and boosting the color saturation using software or camera controls may be helpful.

When naming images, the main image is the first one listed on the Bulk Upload form (i.e. 123546_01A.jpg), whereby the subsequent images follow (123546_01B.jpg, 123546_01C.jpg, 123546_01D.jpg, etc.).
