Documents and Photographs

For most smaller photographs and documents, scanning should be used in conjunction with photography. An inexpensive flatbed scanner will work well. Be sure the glass is clean and free from dust. It is best to scan at 200 dpi or greater, then reduce the image resolution in your .jpg is needed.

When photographing photographs or documents, place the object flat on a well lit copy stand. A tripod should always be used. This same setup works well for paintings, textiles, and other 2-dimentional object.
