IGavel provides advertising and public relations support for
Associate Sellers who participate on the web site.
These services include:
- monthly trade advertising featuring
upcoming sales
- emails to registered iGavel users announcing
upcoming sales and sale status
- ongoing iGavel.com promotion including
public relations, advertising and direct mail.
In addition to the services provided by
iGavel, it is important that Associates actively promote their own
sales in order to maximize their success. We suggest approaching
your sale just as if you were hosting a "live" auction
sale.
Free Promotion:
- Press Releases or Articles
Newspapers, magazines, radio, cable, and internet sites are all
looking for interesting stories and will often publish these at
no charge
- Telephone
Call friends and local Dealers to inform them about your sale
- Internet - web
The opportunities for free advertising on the internet are endless.
Finding these opportunities takes a some time and a little imagination.
Collectors clubs, specialty bulletin boards, and a variety websites
and blogs allow you to post information. To get started, create
a list of keywords that pertain to your sale, then Google the
list to find related websites that will allow you to post comments.
- Exhibition & Previews
Hosting a live exhibition - where bidders can view and examine
the lots - is a good idea, particularly for important sales. Creating
this type of 'event' brings in new bidders, creates a buzz surrounding
the sale (and your business), and provides an opportunity to network
and meet new people. Invite the press, local non-profits (i.e.
historical societies, museums, etc.), designers, dealers, customers,
friends/family, and the public.
Paid Advertising
- Trade Publications
- Newspapers
- Direct Mail Internet advertising
We suggest coordinating all advertising
activities with iGavel. We can offer suggestions, brainstorm ideas,
and coordinate media schedules so our combined efforts have a maximum
effect on the sale results.
